Full title: King Rail and Clapper Rail
Painted at Annapolis, Maryland in February 1944 while Lt. Commander Earl Henry was stationed at the Naval Academy. The smaller bird in the in the foreground is a Clapper Rail, a salt-water bird. The larger bird is a King Rail, a fresh-water bird. The two are seen together in brackish marshes represented in this painting. Plants are Arrowhead or Sagittaria.
Image size is 6 3/8" x 7 3/4". Total paper including white border is 9 1/2" x 11 5/8". This is a perfect size in a mat for a standard 11 by 14 inch frame.
This 4-pack also includes Red-winged Blackbird, Anhinga, and Pileated Woodpecker. Some of these small prints are in limited supply.
King Rail and Clapper Rail was painted in February 1944 at Annapolis, Maryland, while Dr. Earl Henry was serving as a dentist at the U.S. Naval Academy.
